EKZ: Brand Refresh for the energy supplier of the canton of Zurich
Process | SNK gives the overall appearance of EKZ more impact. With a clear, modern appearance and a new, concise use of language, EKZ wants to stand out in the dynamic energy environment and set an example for its customers.
The electricity and energy sector is developing enormously dynamically. Those who want to keep up must position themselves convincingly in the market and prove customer proximity – also with regard to a possible liberalisation. With the brand refresh, EKZ is updating its entire image and sharpening the layout, visual language and tonality. “With the re-branding, we are bringing our values even more directly and authentically to our target groups and at the same time can present our services more convincingly”, emphasises Norbert Egli, Brand Management EKZ.
Re-branding of all touchpoints
In a first step, Process I SNK and EKZ developed an emotional fine positioning as a supplement to the already existing brand values. The results from the joint workshops formed the basis for the complete revision of all touchpoints and applications of the company. All innovations are documented on the online brand management platform Frontify, which was set up specifically for EKZ.
Clear messages in the centre
The focus was also on communication and the use of language and text: Short, big headlines in typical EKZ blue and clear statements attract attention. The aim is to make things even easier to explain and to get to the heart of customer benefits quickly. This claim is additionally supported by new icons and illustrations. More than 140 icons provide orientation and help EKZ to communicate even complex topics in a simple and appealing way.
Modern design, authentic imagery
This new clarity needs space to develop its full effect. Accordingly, the new EKZ appearance is designed to be spacious and light. A lot of white and characteristic blue underscore its anchoring in the canton of Zurich, while two further shades of blue, subtle pastel shades and three highlight colours bring variety and attention. The new EKZ look is rounded off with a new visual world that speaks a clear language: dynamic, authentic images were created in around 20 shoots, showing solutions right in the middle of the energy worlds of EKZ customers.
