Founded in 1948 by Swiss Ueli Prager, the Mövenpick group has since grown to employ 13,600 staff around the world. In 2003, the Mövenpick concern decided to establish Marché International as a separate travel catering enterprise, with a range of goals including increased expansion at high-footfall locations such as airports and motorway service stations and visually emphasising the firm's concept of freshness. Process successfully adapted the brand identity and Mövenpick Marché developed rapidly and sustainably, becoming an independent brand with a high recognition factor.
