LSG Sky Chefs Group is part of the Lufthansa conglomerate and the world's biggest provider of airline catering and on-board service solutions. In 2009, it served up 405 million in-flight meals for more than 300 airlines around the world. Process completely redesigned the group's in-flight crockery, concentrating on a range of concerns, including choice of materials, safety, space saving, ease of use and recognition factor. The functional and ergonomic design improved workflow and set new aesthetic standards. Dubbed Leaves, the new in-flight crockery was premiered on a long-haul flight from Frankfurt to Los Angeles in 2009 and collected the «Best of the best» Red dot design award later the same year.
